Deaf Week

Based on King Abdulaziz University's keenness to take care of all students with their different categories, and the hard quest to provide all the services that facilitate their educational process during the university stage, and especially with regard to special needs students and their related events, and under the patronage of Her Excellency, Female Students Campus Dean Dr. Hana Bent Abdullah Al-Naeem, the Special Needs Center under the Deanship of Student Affairs at the Female Students Campus is organizing the event of the 38^th Deaf Week under the title of "Strengthening Early Intervention Services for the Hearing Impaired and Deaf" (Saturday - Sunday) corresponding to (17-18/6/1434 H) at the Female Students Campus theater to shed light on the experience of King Abdulaziz University in accepting hearing disabilities students. The event aims to: 1- recognize special needs people and techniques to deal with them, 2- identify the assistive technology used in programs to help the hearing impaired and deaf 3- identify the reality of hearing impaired and deaf students at university 3- identify the skills and techniques of the effective guide 4- sensitize families with hearing-impaired and deaf children 5- identify the skills of Deaf and hearing-impaired students 6- identify types and features of autistic children.The event contains many (courses - workshops - and lectures), prepared by academics, researchers and specialists in the field of hearing impaired and deaf, early intervention, autism, and technology. The event is going to be accompanied by a gallery containing deaf students’ production from the College of Design and Art. We call upon all the families of students with special needs, centers concerned with this category, and faculty and students to attend the event and to exchange experiences and information so that we can prepare leaders of this class, and make them aware of the importance of their positive role towards their university and themselves in order to be able to acquire skills that will help them in their scientific and practical lives
