The students have divided the 50 participants in KAU scouts into 3 main scout teams; two of the scout teams in Mina Aljabal with a total number of (33) scouts and one team with a total number of (17) scouts at the New Mina. Their participation focused on the following tasks:

  • carrying out the field surveying of the Hajj campaigns in the Sacred Places,
  • drawing a map showing the actual sites of the Hajj campaigns, and
  • guiding the pilgrims who have lost their way to their camps.

Prof. Dr. Abdulmonem Alhayyani Dean of the Student Affairs congratulated Aljawala Club for their distinction in serving the pilgrims which ended in achieving the first class. He also mentioned that the participating students have been prepared in a number of camps and training courses aimed at preparing them the right way in order to be able to achieve their tasks within the Sacred Places and to cooperate with the governmental teams working there for the purpose of providing help and humanitarian services to the pilgrims. Prof. Alhayyani indicated that the Deanship supports all student programs and activities and exploits all its potentials in order to enhance the students’ level and  equip them with new skills.

Prof. Dr. Alhayyani said that Aljawala’s participation in the public service camps of Hajj in serving the pilgrims in the Sacred Capital City in the season of goodness, bestowment, volunteering, and sacrificing bears the slogan “It is our honour to serve pilgrims”. From this standpoint, KAU was keen to support Aljawala Club’s participation in those camps aiming at the promoting the students’ personalities and encouraging them to volunteer and serve the community, commented Prof. Alhayyani.

It is worth mentioning that KAU scouts were able to reap the first class in the last year Hajj camp in most of the programs and activities of pilgrims service in the sacred places. Those programs included pilgrims’ guidance, illusive guidance, Holy Quran competition, recitation competition, Peace Ambassadors competition, medal of excellence in programs, and the public programs.
