Teaching Unit of the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah (The Holy Qur’an and its Sciences)

 

First: Introducing the unity of teaching the Qur’an and Sunnah and its Sciences:

The Unit for Teaching the Noble Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah at the Deanship of Student Affairs, King Abdulaziz University, established in 1438 AH, is concerned with the task of teaching the Holy Qur’an to all university employees and students. It provides the service of memorizing the Holy Qur’an, correcting Qur’anic recitation, explaining intonation rulings and studying systems in the science of intonation (Tajweed) and readings (Qira’at) in person and virtually. With the restructuring of the Deanship of Student Affairs and the establishment of the unit, the teaching of free course materials has been assigned to all university students to the unit.

Unit Goals:

1. Incorporating the teaching of the Noble Qur’an and its sciences within the system of free courses in the study plans of the faculties of the university.

2. Achieving the Kingdom’s vision through teaching the Holy Quran and its sciences that motivate the authentic Islamic values in young people.

3. Providing the opportunity for students wishing to study Quranic scientific courses and providing them with them.

4. Participation in community service through holding training courses related to memorizing, reciting, explaining and interpreting the Noble Qur’an.

5. Providing expertise to associations and institutions working in the field of serving and teaching the Noble Qur’an.

6. Introducing modern technologies in teaching the Noble Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet.

Second: The Vision of the Unit:

To be a support unit in the academic field of the university faculties by teaching free courses and teaching the Noble Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah and their sciences at King Abdulaziz University

Third: The Mission of the Unit:

Good preparation for students and affiliates in the unit to learn the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah to the extent that they can follow up if they want more.
